Join the Craft of Traditional Carpet Making: Production Operative / Trainee Weaver Wanted in Dewsbury

Aqumen Recruitment is partnering with a renowned local weaver in Dewsbury to find dedicated individuals with a passion for hand-crafted Axminster carpets.

If you have an interest in traditional weaving, a strong work ethic, and excellent timekeeping skills, this role is for you!

Position: Production Operative / Trainee Weaver

Location: Dewsbury, WF12

Role Responsibilities:

• Train in the cutting area with experienced professionals.
• Utilize looms to craft carpets, including shearing seams and placing on stem drums.
• Master the Weaver's knot, tying it to the right size to avoid holes in carpets.
• Handle three looms, conduct quality checks, and change 64 bobbing's within 15 minutes.
• Contribute to product checks and mending, ensuring the highest quality.
• Adjust to different machinery and looms, including wider looms for broader carpets.

What We're Looking For:

• Interest in becoming a full-time weaver.
• Outstanding work attitude, with a willingness to learn and grow.
• Strict adherence to timekeeping.
• Compliance with safety regulations, including wearing required PPE.

Working Hours:

• Shifts: 7 am - 3 pm or 3 pm - 11 pm

Pay Rate

· £10.42 per hour

PPE Requirements:

• Safety shoes, Hi-Viz, and earplugs.

Note:

• Mobile phones allowed on site but not in work areas.
