Maintenance Engineer - Manchester


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our food manufacturing company in Manchester.

This role will be on a panama shift pattern, covering days and nights.


In this position you will be responsible for preventative maintenance, repairs and fault finding on a range of food production equipment and plant utilities.

Duties will include:



  • Conducting scheduled servicing of machinery

  • Diagnosing and repairing faults on food processing equipment

  • Installation, testing and commissioning of new equipment

  • Inspecting and testing electrical systems and instrumentation

  • Reading and interpreting circuit diagrams and blueprints

  • Carrying out hydraulic and pneumatic systems repairs

  • Recording maintenance and repair activities clearly and concisely


The ideal candidate must have:



  • City & Guilds or equivalent electrical engineering qualification

  • Solid experience in maintaining industrial food production equipment

  • Understanding of refrigeration, steam and compressed air systems

  • Excellent fault finding and problem solving ability

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Self-motivated with a high attention to detail


Previous experience in a food production environment is desirable.

As a minimum you must have a demonstrable electrical bias and hold relevant electrical qualifications.


£49,850 per annum
