Sustainability Manager

A client within the Public Sector based in Hampshire is currently recruiting for a Sustainability Manager to join their Asset & Sustainability team as soon as possible.

The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to lead on key sustainability programmes with colleagues from across the organisation and external stakeholders monitoring progress, recording, and reporting performance outcomes, on carbon reductions and wider Sustainability programmes.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Lead and support in the delivery of the client's Environment and Climate Change Strategy

• Collaborate with teams across the business to plan, manage and report on all the objectives and targets contained within our ambitious plans ensuring that key projects reach fruition.


• Lead on ESG (environmental social governance) reporting, TCFD (taskforce on climate related financial disclosure) requirements and the delivery of specific sustainability projects.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require:

• A degree in a relevant subject such as Environmental Science, Geography or Sustainable Development.


• An in depth understanding of the challenges and opportunities arising from the transition to Net Zero and the zero-carbon economy.

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:

• Experience of reviewing and utilising evidence-based recommendations to influence new business opportunities.


• Experience of displaying resilience and successfully delivering demanding and complex projects.


• Full, clean driving licence or the ability to be able to travel in a timely manner to attend meetings.
  
  

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £43,500.00 per annum.
