Job Description

Service Care Finance are currently recruiting on behalf of a Public Sector body for an Accountancy Manager on a temporary basis.

The Accountancy Manager will undertake a large amount of reconciliation work for Control Accounts including Payroll, Pensions, Rent and also VAT Returns.

The Accountancy Manager will report into the Senior Technical Accountant and will be directly responsible for up to 3 staff.

Main Responsibilities

• Control and monitor all Brigade accounts to trial balance level and assist the Senior Technical Accountant with the preparation of Final Accounts, liaising with the external Auditor as necessary.


• Take ownership of the maintaining Treasury Management records.
  
  Maintain an on-going reconciliation of HM Revenue and Customs personal accounts, payroll control accounts, maintain an overview of all control accounts and prepare monthly personal and control account monitoring/reconciliation reports for Finance Department Branch heads.


• The Accountancy Manager will work on VAT Returns and will be in control of timelines for this work on a monthly basis whilst providing guidance to senior members.


• Prepare end of year and quarterly Government and CIPFA revenue and capital returns and maintain a register of the accounting liabilities and assets raised and carried forward.

Ideal Candidate

• CCAB/CIMA Qualified Accountant or Part-Qualified with extensive relevant experience.


• Experience of reconciliation of control accounts, preferably with Payroll, Pensions and Rent and experience with VAT returns.


• Well-organised individual with proven experience of managing timescales/workloads and working on multiple areas within a large organisation.


• Great communication skills and confident in their own ability to carry out the work requested within given timescales.
