Rate - £24-£28 PAYE Per hour
Location - Cambridge
The role is to provide a focused project role to lead on medical workforce planning.
This role will support the Trust in assessing current and future needs for the medical workforce in line with the projected clinical demands and current job plans, determining the number of medical staff needed, and developing strategies for consultant and medical post recruitment and retention.
To deliver at the end of the 6 month a fully worked up medical workforce plan with considered actions on delivery of the plan.
The aim is to optimise staffing levels, improve patient care, reduce waiting times, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure best use of resources.
1.
To review the current medical workforce, including the number and distribution of consultants across services and across the geography of the Trust.
2.
To undertake the review with reference to the Medical Workforce Race Equality Standard.
3.
To determine whether there is a need for additional consultant/medical posts over the next 1-5 years based on demographic data, associated demand projections, service utilisation patterns, and clinical priorities.

To determine whether there is a need for new and/or different roles that will support the delivery of services based on the demographic data, associated demand projections, service utilisation patterns, and clinical priorities.

To consider national medical workforce data (e.g.
commissioned training etc) and the impact on recruiting and retaining future medical staff.
6.
To develop a Medical Workforce Plan including a Recruitment and Retention Strategy.
7.
To work with the Medical Director and Head of Department of Psychiatry to optimise the role of clinical academics undertaking sessions within the Trust.
8.
To work with the Trust's SHRBP - Medical Workforce Lead to support the completion of all job plans for the consultant body and provide additional HR expertise to the Job Planning Consistency Committee, chaired by the Deputy Medical Director.
9.
To collaborate with key stakeholders, including Medical Directorate leads and Exec colleagues, Directorate triumvirates, Medical Staffing, Directors of Education and R&D, etc to ensure alignment of workforce planning efforts with organisational goals and priorities.
10.
To review key workforce metrics in relation to medical workforce and establish a monitoring mechanism for the Medical Directorate.
11.
To work with Trust workforce planning leads to input from the medical perspective in the Trust's workforce planning process and ensure the Medical Workforce Plan links with the plans for other professions.
12.
To undertake specific actions related to this project that support the development and delivery of the medical workforce plan.
