Mechanical Supervisor

About Us:


We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Supervisor to join our Site Estates maintenance team.

Reporting to the Mechanical Delivery Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of planned and reactive maintenance, as well as small works projects.

This position offers an opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues from various disciplines and sub-contractors to maintain and enhance our facilities.


Key Responsibilities:


Reporting to the Delivery Manager Mechanical, your primary responsibilities will include:



  • Ensuring that planned, reactive, remedial, and new works are executed safely, on schedule, with high quality, and in accordance with contractual and operational priorities.

  • Managing planned maintenance work to meet the maintenance program.

  • Assisting Technical Managers in providing cost estimates, quotations, and proposals, and obtaining relevant approvals for work outside the contract scope.

  • Supervising and conducting reactive maintenance work to meet Site Estate and end user requirements within set KPI timescales.

  • Overseeing and managing Small Works Projects as delegated.

  • Evaluating the performance of the in-house electrical team to ensure cost-effectiveness and adherence to Key Performance (KPI) obligations.

  • Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations (e.g., electrical regulations, CDM regulations, Health and Safety requirements, site regulations, and client requirements) for each incident.

  • Providing necessary information for updating the Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system and associated drawings following the completion of services.

  • Collaborating with the Delivery Manager to implement mitigations for works that do not meet KPI standards.

  • Undertaking other reasonable duties within your competence as required by line management.


Person Specification:


To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:



  • Minimum ONC level qualification or equivalent (Candidates with relevant in-post experience will also be considered).

  • Prior supervisory management experience in a similar role.

  • Familiarity with Planned Maintenance systems.

  • Strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.

  • General knowledge of construction trades.

  • Good understanding of H&S legislation.

  • Ability to work independently, stay composed under pressure, and manage tight deadlines.

  • Effective prioritization and workload management skills.

  • Valid UK driving license.

  • A commitment to delivering excellent customer service and high-quality work.

  • Willingness to become an Authorised Person in the Electrical discipline and participate in the site's emergency call-out service on a rota basis.

  • Previous knowledge and experience of NICEIC requirements, preferably at Qualifying Manager status.

  • IOSH Safety passport holder.
