Occupational Therapist - 12- 18 year olds - Charlwood, Surrey - Permanent

Maxxima have recently partnered with  one of the UK’s specialist provider of diagnostic and healthcare solutions.

We are currently looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist, who can provide overall support for the clinical leadership of the service.

This post is based in Charlwood, Surrey, which is easily accessible via public transport.
 
About the role:
As an Occupational Therapist, you will be working in a clinical and service development capacity to ensure the service to patients is planned, delivered and evaluated in line with evidence-based practice.

Working closely with the multi-disciplinary team to help create and maintain a robust service.

Your main responsibilities as an Occupational Therapist:

- Promote health and independence for children and young people admitted by delivering high quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions, along with providing clinical leadership, supervision, and consultation to the wider multidisciplinary team
- Contribute to the multidisciplinary team to ensure children and young people receive high quality care
- Communicate effectively with a range of clinicians, managers, directors, associate directors, people who access services, carers/supporter/family members, stakeholders and agencies
- Provide compassionate and effective leadership to junior staff including support staff and assistants 
- Ensure the delivery of occupational therapy student placements
- Demonstrate highly specialist expertise and specialist occupational therapy skills in areas such as occupational engagement, environmental adaptation, development and maintenance of skills needed for meaningful participation
- Support the completion of appraisals/personal development plans with junior staff
- Be responsible for the development and implementation of appropriate policies, protocols and care pathways

What we are looking for in an Occupational Therapist:

- An Occupational Therapy profession qualification
- Extensive and relevant post qualification clinical experience with children and young people who have complex needs
- Extensive experience of applying occupational frames of reference and approaches
- Demonstrates evidence highly effective clinical reasoning skills
- Highly specialist knowledge of relevant assessment and treatment models
- Knowledge of how to work with neurodiverse individuals
