One of the largest Housing Associations in Essex is recruiting for an Enhanced Housing Management Officer to provide a comprehensive housing management service to people living within their supported housing properties across Essex, in order to maintain their independence and support them to maintain their tenancies

The Role
The key responsibilities of this Enhanced Housing Management Officer role are:.

• Rent Management and Arrears Recovery - Monitor and ensure regular, timely rent payments from current and former residents, Take lead in recovering arrears, including attending court and managing evictions and provide assistance to tenants facing housing debts that affect their ability to pay for accommodation.


• Tenancy Conditions Enforcement - Offer advice and support to residents in understanding and adhering to tenancy agreements and take necessary action to rectify breaches of tenancy terms, including legal measures if required.


• Property Maintenance and Inspections - Conduct thorough inspections of both occupied and vacant properties to identify damage or defects and facilitate repairs or improvements through coordination with asset management/Axis, including furniture replacement.


• Safety and Hygiene Guidance - Provide guidance to tenants on using home equipment safely and maintaining personal safety and offer advice on maintaining a reasonable standard of hygiene within the property.


• Community Engagement and Independence Support - Assist residents in engaging with the broader community and building confidence and offer advocacy, advice, and guidance to help residents achieve their aspirations and enhance their independence.

The Candidate
To be considered for this Enhanced Housing Management Officer role, you will require previous experience working within housing management and it is essential you are able to drive as the role is covering a patch of services.
You will also require the following skills and experience:

• Detailed knowledge of housing management and housing legislation.


• Experience of effective ASB management


• Experience of managing residents arrears including court action.


• Experience of rent collection, recovery and legal action


• Knowledge of housing law, housing management techniques including understanding providing support, advice and the ability to communicate this knowledge to a range of client groups and how these can be met.


• Good understanding of financial inclusion.

Due to the nature of clients you will be supporting in this role, you will require an enhanced DBS.

The Package
This is a full time Enhanced Housing Management Officer role, on an initial 12 week contract, working 36 hours per week.
The purpose of the vacancy is to cover the recruitment process for a permanent staff member, but if you are successful in the role there is a strong chance the contract will become permanent beyond 12 weeks.
