Visitor Centre Retail Specialist/Model Maker

Permanent – full time.

Hours: 5 out of 7 days 08:15 – 16:15 ½ hour break = 37.5 hrs per week.

Must be available weekends which are rotated with other staff. 

£21,000 - £25,000

Westin Par is working with Hornby Hobbies who are seeking a Visitor Centre Retail Specialist/Model Maker to work in their reimagined WonderWorks Visitor Centre!

About the Visitor Centre Retail Specialist/Model Maker

This is a one-off opportunity to become part of this amazing team and also showcase your ability and passion to build Hornby’s range of models!

The person who is selected for this role will demonstrate making anything from an Airfix A01071B Supermarine Spitfire to a R1265 Hornby OO Gauge Family Fun Project Starter Pack to visitors so you must be happy to communicate and present to members of the public. 

You’ll typically do this one day a week although it could be more often during busy periods. 

You will also be working in the retail side of the attraction and discussing all that the WonderWorks Centre has to offer its visitors. 

Day to day duties of the Visitor Centre Retail Specialist/Model Maker

• Ensuring the Customer Service office is manned during its stated opening hours.

• Providing excellent customer service to all customers

• Answering incoming calls

• Responding to customers emails

• Responding to customers letters 

• Order input and payment processing of both telephone and postal orders

• Arranging collections

• Liaising with carriers regarding deliveries

• Resolving problems with Direct (internet/post/telephone) orders

• Recording daily activities

• Maintaining and expanding individual and department product knowledge

• Communicating relevant information to Manager and other departments

• Allocating emails to the relevant departments

• General office admin

To be successful in your application for the Visitor Centre Retail Specialist/Model Maker, you will have:
