Lead Speech & Language Therapist - Mental Health- Warrington - Permanent

We are currently looking for an experienced Lead Speech & Language Therapist in Mental Health who can provide overall support for the clinical leadership of the service.

This post is based in Warrington, which is easily accessible via public transport.
 
About the role:
As a Lead Speech & Language Therapist, you will be Working in a private hospital that provides patient centred care and treatment  including medium, low secure and psychiatric intensive care (PICU) for women over the age of 18 with personality disorders and mental illness such as: Learning Disability, Personality Disorder, Emotional and mental health problems with associated risk behaviours, Challenging behaviours etc.

Your main responsibilities as a Lead Speech & Language Therapist:

- Lead the SLT service and its development in a culturally diverse in-patient setting
- Provide high quality assessment
- Implement plans for care programmes in group or individual settings using approaches that are evidence based
- Provide specialist clinical advice to other staff surrounding the management and care of service users with communication difficulties and/or hearing impairment is also a part of your role
- Provide specialist Dysphagia assessment and intervention to patients

What we are looking for in a Lead Speech & Language Therapist:

- Degree in Speech & Language Pathology 
- Current HCPC registration
- RCSLT Membership
- Leadership and service management skills
- Training and education skills 
- Able to work independently and show initiative
- Expert knowledge in dysphagia and communication disorders 
- Experience in delivering group or individual based interventions
