Band 6 Occupational Therapist Medical and Oncology - Lincoln - Permanent

We are currently looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist (Medical and Oncology), who can provide overall support for the clinical leadership of the service.

This post is based in Lincoln , which is easily accessible via public transport.
 
About the role:
As an Occupational Therapist Medical and Oncology, you will work in a blended physiotherapy and occupational therapy team and provide a high standard of Occupational Therapy to medical and oncology inpatients.

The team you will be part of covers the following clinical areas: Burton Ward- 20 bedded renal unit, Dixon Ward- 20 bedded gastro unit, Navenby Ward- 27 bedded endocrine and general medical ward, and Waddington Unit- 24 bedded oncology and haematology unit.

Your main responsibilities as an Occupational Therapist Medical and Oncology:

- Be an active member of the 7 day service to the patients at Lincoln Hospital, this includes bank holidays.
- Perform advance and detailed assessments with a diverse range of patients.

Manage complex conditions, providing a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised intervention.
- Ability to hold your own caseload and be responsible for a defined area of the service, working without direct supervision.
- Support junior and assistant staff within the team/ supervision to take the form of regular training and peer review.
- Access to advice and support available at all times from therapy team leads
- Assist in the supervision of OT students.
- Complete appraisal of Band 5 OTs and OTA staff.
- Undertake evidence based audit and research projects to further own and teams clinical practice.
- Make recommendations to team leader.
