Are you detail-oriented, efficient, and customer-focused? We are looking for a Planning Administration Officer to join our Development Management team.

In this role, you will be responsible for validating, recording, and monitoring planning applications, ensuring they adhere to our integrated planning team approach and agreed service administrative procedures.

Your efficient and effective customer service will contribute to providing outstanding service delivery to the public and other users of our Development Management service.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Validate and Register Applications: Verify and register planning applications, amendments, discharge of conditions applications, and pre-application enquiries.

    Ensure accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.

  • Communication and Consultation: Produce Site Notices, consult with statutory and non-statutory consultees, and record responses using our planning applications database.

    Advertise Public Notices in local newspapers and proof the press edition.

  • Data Management: Digitize site-based information onto the Authority's GIS mapping system, run site-related planning constraints, and populate information fields in the planning applications database.

  • Deputize and Report: Act as a deputy for the Senior Planning Administration Officer when necessary.

    Produce a weekly report of all applications received and publicize as required.

  • Document Management: Process withdrawn applications, maintain the statutory register, and organize new working planning files.

    Record, copy, and distribute amended plans and documents.

    Collaborate with the Document Management Technician to ensure proper filing and loading of planning documents daily.

  • Customer Interaction: Handle inquiries from the public and other organizations related to planning administration and provide planning-related information when requested.

  • Website Management: Assist in scanning/indexing documents to the Authority's website and update the Development Management pages of the Authority's website.

  • Committee Support: Assist the Senior Planning Administration Officer in issuing planning decision notices, performing administration work for planning and enforcement appeals, and preparing reports, maps, and presentations for the monthly Development Management Committee agenda papers.

  • Safety Compliance: Work safely, adhere to safety procedures, and promptly report any incidents.
