2nd Line Support Engineer - Cornwall

2nd Line Support Engineer to deliver outstanding customer service and technical support to clients across the Southwest and beyond.

The role involves overseeing the helpdesk, assisting and mentoring first-line engineers, and offers the opportunity to work in a company committed to continuous learning, growth, and career development.

Key responsibilities:

  • Offering 2nd Line technical support to businesses of varying sizes and industries.

  • Serving as an escalation point for 2nd Line engineers, aiding in their comprehension.

  • Supporting field engineers with expertise and on-site assistance as needed.

  • Conducting research and outlining diverse projects, then implementing them effectively.

  • Contributing to helpdesk management, identifying and resolving issues, and executing necessary repairs or upgrades.

  • Ensuring prompt escalation of support issues to 3rd Line when necessary.

  • Vigilantly monitoring security threats and vulnerabilities, implementing measures, and ensuring compliance with data security regulations.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working on a support desk or in an IT Support role

  • Possess a valid driver's license (vehicle access is optional but beneficial)

  • Adept at handling pressure and effectively managing time on a busy helpdesk

  • In-depth knowledge of Office 365 (Email concepts, SharePoint, OneDrive, Azure AD)

  • Solid understanding of networks (LAN, WAN, VLAN, WIFI, IPSEC, VPN)

  • Familiarity with onsite/offsite backup products and storage, including cloud storage

  • Exceptional customer service skills

  • Expertise in Windows Servers (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, GPO's, Print Management, AD Sync)

  • Technical qualifications like CompTIA A+ are advantageous but not mandatory

Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 per annum plus an excellent benefits package
