An innovative, UK based manufacturing company are looking for a Safety, Health and Environmental Director (SHE). In the last five years, this company in the County Durham area has experienced exponential growth.

With this rapid expansion comes an increased responsibility to prioritise the Safety, Health, and Environmental impact of the workforce and operations.

The role of the Safety, Health and Environmental Director is pivotal in scaling our SHE initiatives, adapting policies, and driving the commitment to creating a secure and sustainable work environment.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Up to £94,000

A successful Safety, Health and Environmental Director would acquire:

  • A degree (or equivalent) within a SHE related subject such as Health and Safety

  • Managerial experience within a SHE related role

  • Advances knowledge of SHE requirements, H&S systems, manufacturing or R&D operations

  • Contributes to the strategic leadership of the business and has influence over organisational behaviour

  • Has exceptional communication skills

  • United people around the business to deliver the strategy

Some Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • To lead Safety, Health and Environment Systems, maintain knowledge of, and implement, current SHE regulations, SHE Compliance policies, and industry best practices for SHE Systems.

  • To provide the necessary leadership to create a vision, mission, and road map for creating a culture of Compliance that is well integrated and supportive of end-to-end supply whilst adhering to customer expectations.

  • To provide leadership and assistance at the sites and influence the wider SHE team to create accessible policies and procedures that provide guidance and influence all actions in the area of SHE compliance.

  • To engage with Senior Managers/Directors to establish Operations plans and objectives in order to ensure the SHE vision is a cornerstone of their working plans.

  • To make decisions on administrative SHE matters and ensures effective achievement of operation's objectives.
