Job Title: Marketing, Communication, & PR Director 

Location: Maldives

Package: up to $5,000 USD per month, plus site based accommodation, transportation (sea plane, boat etc.), food allowance etc.

 

I'm currently supporting an incredible hospitality group, based over in the Maldives, with their search for a Marketing, Communication, & PR Director. 

 

The group are one of the leading hospitality groups, across the Maldives, boasting an incredible portfolio of luxury properties and a number of regional & international awards to match.

 

In short, we'relooking for a Marketing, Communication, & PR Director who will be responsible for the planning, development and implementation of the organization’s marketing strategies, marketing communications and public relations activities both external and internal.

This position oversees the development and implementation of support materials and services for chapters in the areas of marketing, communications and public relations.

The Director directs the efforts of the marketing, communications, and public relations staff and coordinates at both strategic and tactical levels with other functions of the organization.

 

This role will be a crucial part of the wider Senior Management Team, and you would be reporting directly into the Group Sales & Marketing Director.

Reporting into you will be a wider digital marketing & e-commerce team (circa 5-6 in total). 

 

In the initial stages, this role will focus more on the PR & Communications piece (with the group looking to re-open & re-launch a number of refirbished properties in Q4 2024, & 2025). 

 

Prior luxury hospitality experience is a must, and we are seeking those who have a strong track record leading successful marketing campaigns across remote island locations (with preference being given to those who have prior experience operating within the Maldives). 

 

What you'll be doing:


  • Develop and implement integrated PR, marketing and communication strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Identify emerging trends and opportunities in the industry for innovative campaigns.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align efforts with overall business strategies.
  • Cultivate and maintain media relationships for positive coverage.
  • Serve as the primary spokesperson, communicating key messages to various audiences.
  • Develop and execute crisis communication plans.
  • Lead marketing plans and campaigns to promote products, services and brand awareness.
  • Oversee market research to analyze trends, competitor strategies and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure marketing initiatives support business objectives.
  • Develop and manage internal communication strategies for consistent messaging.
  • Create content for press releases, newsletters, websites and social media.
  • Guide and support team members in creating effective communication materials.
  • Recruit, develop and mentor a high-performing PR, marketing and communication team.

 

What we're looking for:


  • Bachelor's or master's degree in business administration, Communication, Marketing or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in the field of marketing with global brands, travel industry or luxury brands.
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations activities.
  • Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal sales skills.
  • Experience developing and managing budgets, hiring, training, developing, supervising and appraising personnel.
  • Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases, making presentations and negotiating with media.
  • Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications.
  • Computer literacy in word processing, data base management and page layout.
  • Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.
