Quality Technician - Swindon


We are seeking a Quality Technician to be responsible for the initial logging and testing of customer returns and assisting failure analysis engineers in the investigation of the root cause of failure.

This involves the use of electrical and physical failure analysis equipment and the documentation of the results.


As part of the Quality Team, you will highlight and suggest improvements to the failure analysis process and documentation.


General Responsibilities



  • Provide administrative support to failure analysis and quality including logging of customer returns and initial reporting.

  • Operate and maintain, where applicable, test equipment and laboratory failure analysis equipment to support the failure analysis and quality department activities.

  • Carry out initial measurements of the electrical and visual characteristics of customer returns.

  • Carry out QA control testing on products in accordance with defined test conditions and instructions, including visual checks.

  • Complete quality and performance testing of production or developmental ASIC's

  • Control and store records for later use and interrogation, in accordance with the Quality Management System.

  • Assists Failure Analysis Engineers in the reporting and investigation of failures

  • Highlight and recommend improvements to the failure analysis process and documentation

  • As part of the Quality Team and in conjunction with the Failure Analysis Engineers support the safe running of the failure analysis lab


Experience / Qualifications



  • Graduate level, or second role in industry.

  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with a demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands.

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation.

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results.

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity.

  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organisation including suppliers and external customers.
