Teach Plus are currently working with a Mainstream primary school who are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team.

This continues to be a good school where the focus is on ensuring that they create a calm and positive atmosphere where pupils have a positive attitude towards their learning.

Leaders have effective systems in place for ensuring that pupils attend the school on a regular basis.

Staff are positive about the support they receive from leaders with their workload and well-being.


For this Teaching Assistant role will be expected to support pupils with SEN and ensure that they are supported to develop to their full potential.

You will need to supervise and provide support and assistance to individuals and groups of pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.

You will need to be able to use appropriate strategies and approaches to support and assist pupils to achieve their learning goals.



As a Teaching Assistant you will be required to:



  • Support pupils learning needs with pupils with SEN.

  • Assist with planning learning activities.

  • Carry out work, care, and support programmes for pupils, under the guidance of the class teacher.

  • Support pupils with challenging behaviour and provide different strategies to support their needs.

  • Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to their individual needs.

  • Monitor and record pupils' progress, achievements, and responses in respect of all learning activities and teaching programmes.

  • Assist with supervision of pupils out of lesson times which include before and after school and lunch times.


The ideal candidate for a Teaching Assistant will have:



  • CACHE level 3 Support Teaching and learning or in Childcare and education.

  • Experience working in mainstream primary schools or nursery settings.

  • Enhanced DBS and on the update service

  • Right to work in the UK

  • Overseas criminal clearance.
