Groups Conference and Events sales manager

Languages: French, English and Dutch highly desirable

My client is looking for an experienced Groups, Conference and Events sales manager to work for their amazing hotel.

Some of the key skills you need to have to be successful for the role are:


  • Responsible for the achievement of financial targets related to groups, conferences and events as well group room revenue.
  • Responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the GCE department and maximizing revenue by reviewing and revising revenue strategies and identifying trends.
  • Coordinating the successful event planning, sales and overall execution of all Conference & Events that take place within the hotel.
  • Will maximize revenue opportunities in the areas of group bookings, conferences and events by driving sales leads and increasing conversions.
  • The role will interact frequently with customers and guests to learn about their needs and develop relationships to gain repeating and expanded business.
  • Reaches personal sales goals and, together with the DOSM and Revenue Director, executes overall sales strategy of the hotel.
  • The Groups, Conferences & Events Manager will be responsible for leading the GC&E team & manage direct reports (4-5 team members).

Qualifications, Skills & Experience


  • Fluent in English, French and/or Dutch.
  • Strong understanding of MICE environment & tools (Cvent, MICE VIEW, Opera S&C,…)
  • Internationally experienced
  • Affinity with a more refined lifestyle/luxury hotels
  • Management skills in leading a team
  • A strong leader with at least 4 years of experience in an international environment, holding a similar role in a comparable property with substantial rooms and meeting spaces.
  • Maximize all GC&E (Groups, Conferences, and Events) revenue opportunities by driving sales leads and increasing conversion.
  • Manage the department’s day-to-day operations and activities, through implementation of the selling strategy, yielding of the meeting & events spaces.
  • Develop and manage (in support of DOSM) event budgets, forecasts and financial reporting, ensuring profitability and cost control
  • Ensure the M&E (Meeting & Events) team members are developed effectively and generate a culture of high-quality standards for relationship building, customer service, selling techniques, and billing & processing contracts.
  • Manage and develop the GC&E Sales Team to ensure career progression and personal development within the hotel and company.
  • Coaching and supporting the assistant GCE manager to help to achieve the next level in him/her career development
  • Conduct an effective recruitment process, with support of the HR department and/or DOS, to engage new GC&E Executive Sales Team members.
  • Ensure that all events are handed over to the Food & Beverage Operations Team every week in a timely manner! and that all the information is accurate, confirmed and billing details are documented and in line with the credit policy of the hotel.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, health, and safety regulations related to events and conferences.
  • Support the F&B operations and room reservations team with information as required.
  • Ensure all information is dispatched to the Chef and Operations Team in a timely manner to guarantee they can order and make a work schedule in the effective way.
  • Attend sales events, as required by the DOSM/sales team
  • Liaise with field Sales Team of the hotel to confirm their accounts / segments perform in line with expectations / set KPI’s of the hotel.
