Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to provide complex care support to our client, who is undergoing tracheostomy and invasive ventilation surgery in August.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

· Airway care and management, including cough assist and tracheal suction

· PEG feeding and medication administration

· Moving and handling

· Observations and monitoring

· Supporting the client's communication needs using alternative methods, including eye gaze computer and PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System)

Requirements:

· Hold a full driving license and be over 21 years old (client vehicle provided)

· Non-smoker preferred

· Excellent English and verbal communication skills

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Experience in caring for clients with complex needs (desirable)

Client Profile:

Our client has Motor Neuron Disease (MND) and is undergoing planned surgery for tracheostomy ventilation.

They are proactive and independent, utilizing alternative communication methods to express their needs.
