Business Analyst

Are you an experienced Business Analyst with a passion for technology and a strong understanding of development lifecycles? The Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters (CTP HQ) is seeking a talented individual to join our Business Development, Strategy & Demand (BDSD) team.

This is a full-time role based at our headquarters, and it requires Developed Vetting clearance.

Role Overview:
In this role, you will support the national CT Policing Community by developing technology User Requirements, scoping studies, and Business Cases in line with Government Green Book guidelines.

You will produce a variety of documentation to progress projects through governance to delivery and act as a key advisor on technology matters.

You will also represent the BDSD and Technology Pillar at corporate and national technology forums.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Develop Requirements: Assist in creating user requirements, scoping studies, and business cases.

    Liaise with operational teams, Procurement Services, and Lead Accountants.

  • Strategic Alignment: Ensure that technology services align with national CT Policing strategies and requirements.

  • Documentation & Maintenance: Update and maintain the BDSD Demand Log and the National CT Technology Strategy.

  • Stakeholder Management: Act as a conduit between customers and CTP HQ, offering advice and resolving issues related to technology projects.

  • Representation: Represent BDSD and CTP HQ at project boards and technology forums.

    Influence project direction and advocate for the CT Policing Community's needs.

  • Technology Assessment: Advise on new and emerging technologies, and oversee the implementation of national technology projects.

  • Project Lifecycle Support: Assist with the delivery of project lifecycle deliverables and facilitate workshops to identify and implement improvements.



Essential Experience:



  • Extensive experience in Business Analysis, including managing stakeholders and producing high-quality documentation.

  • Practical experience with Business Process Model Notation (BPMN), Gap Analysis, and national security accreditation processes.

  • Proven skills in workshop facilitation, process modeling using Unified Modelling Language (UML), and secure IT technology.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.



Desirable Qualifications:



  • BCS Business Analysis Professional Diploma (formerly ISEB Business Analysis Diploma).

  • Recognised Project Management qualifications.
