£30,000 - 32,000 DOE

40 hours a week

 

Job Summary

To be responsible for and carry out the property maintenance of the care home, including reactive and proactive maintenance.

You will maintain the maintenance schedule, stock controls, tools and supplies.

You will also be responsible for Health and Safety compliance and close coordination with the Care Home Manager and Operations Team.

 

Responsibilities will include:


  • Decorating
  • Repairs and renewals internally and externally
  • Garden, driveway and fence maintenance
  • Basic electrical and plumbing repairs and renewals
  • Maintenance of kitchen appliances
  • Reporting to the Home Manager, ensuring seamless communication between maintenance and personnel
  • Stock keeping of materials
  • Obtaining best quotes for supplies of materials
  • Completion of property maintenance records
  • Liaise with contractors and monitor work within the care home carried out by third party suppliers.
  • Health and safety risk management (Gas appliances, Testing of lifts, PAT testing, Electrical and Fire safety)
  • On-Call for emergencies within the home

 

What do you need?


  • Proven experience in property maintenance and repair is essential
  • Knowledge of working in the care industry or a similar environment is desirable
  • Excellent working knowledge of Health and Safety and Fire Regulations is essential
  • A skill-based qualification such as Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry etc.

    is desirable
  • Experience in project management and control of contractors is desirable
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
