Insurance Fraud Fee Earner

Sacco Mann are currently working with a highly regarded national firm who are seeking a Insurance Fraud Fee Earner to join their counter-fraud team in Bolton, which is the largest and longest-established team of its kind in the UK.

The File Handler will deal with litigated claims on a Delegated Authority basis on behalf of their Insurer Clients, while working closely with the Team Leader and Lead Lawyer.

The caseload will contain a variety of suspected fraudulent insurance claims, such as bogus passenger, fraudulent exaggeration, induced accidents and more.

Essential Skills:

• Experience in civil litigation claims handing or suitably qualified (ILEX, LPC etc.)


• Experience of handling RTA pre-litigated and / or litigated case load


• An understanding of insurance litigation practice and processes, together with indemnity principles


• Knowledge of the litigation process, the CPR, relevant Personal Injury Protocols and working platforms/portals


• Forensic and analytical approach to evidence


• High level of commercial awareness related to fixed fee work

People with strong litigation skills and experience in RTA may also be considered to retrain into Fraud.

Main responsibilities:

• Run fraud cases from the point of litigation through to the resolution of the case


• Setting the case strategy on files and ensuring adherence to any KYO or generic strategies that may be put in place by the lead lawyer and technical leads.


• Identifying strategic litigation opportunities


• Running files in accordance with agreed client guidelines


• Liaising with all appropriate involvements on the case


• Dealing pro-actively with the case investigations and strategy from receipt until point of resolution
