Technical Superintendent (Wet)

Job Title: Technical Superintendent


Location: Athens, Greece


Who are we recruiting for? We are seeking a qualified and motivated Technical Superintendent on behalf of a leading client in the maritime industry.

What will you be doing? As a Technical Superintendent, you will:



  • Ensure the safe and economic operation of allocated ships.

  • Be fully conversant with and effectively implement the Company's Management System.

  • Contribute to the development and amendment of existing procedures.

  • Promote and support continual improvement efforts.

  • Monitor compliance with the Company's Management System in shipboard and departmental activities.

  • Oversee performance, technical, and operational conditions of assigned vessels (oil/chemical or gas).


  • Ensure prudent financial management and budget control.

  • Arrange repairs and dry dockings.

  • Ensure ships are fully certified according to international standards and requirements.

  • Ensure ships are appropriately manned.

  • Prepare technical reports for owners in compliance with the management agreement.

  • Encourage and develop a strong safety culture and environmental & energy awareness on board.


Are you the ideal candidate?



  • Marine degree from a university with a minimum of three years of experience onboard ships or in the shipping industry.

  • Alternatively, a Chief Engineer's license with a minimum of two years of sea service as a Chief Engineer.

  • Previous experience as a Technical Superintendent with another shipping company for a minimum of two years.

  • Strong leadership, controlling, and communication skills with the ability to work within a team.

  • Good command of the English language.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the marine industry and applicable rules and regulations.

  • Technical knowledge of the vessels assigned to you.

  • Familiarity with purchasing and budget cost control.
