Financial Controller (Hybrid)

A Financial Controller is needed for a growing Structural Steel company in North Yorkshire that has recently transitioned to PLC status.

This role offers the opportunity to become a shareholder as part of the employment package.

Position: Full-time, Hybrid
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Reporting to: Managing Director

In this role, you will be:



  • Overseeing finance operations.

  • Producing and analysing monthly Management Accounts.

  • Preparing financial reports and dashboards.

  • Managing BACS payments and expenses.

  • Maintaining banking relationships and the fixed asset register.

  • Responsible for the balance sheet and reconciliations.

  • Addressing queries from customers, suppliers, and HMRC.

  • Ensuring regulatory compliance.

  • Supervising year-end processes and liaising with auditors.

  • Overseeing payroll.

  • Managing HR functions, including recruitment.

  • Handling company insurance and IT.


Qualifications:



  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar role.

  • Previous line management experience.

  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade C or above.

  • AAT Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification.

  • Proficiency in Sage Accounting and Sage Payroll software.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Aptitude for financial figures and ability to work independently.
