SEND Teacher

Position Details:
Role: SEND Teacher
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 am to 4:00 pm
Start Date: Immediately
Location: Hampton
About the Role:
As a SEND Teacher, you will be responsible for leading the SEND Unit in a mainstream secondary school, ensuring that all students with learning difficulties receive the support they need.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the SEND team, working closely with a group of experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to provide daily support to students.
- Adapt the mainstream curriculum to make it more accessible for students with learning difficulties, ensuring all students can participate and progress in their education.
- Work with students with a range of SEND needs, helping them to develop their academic skills, confidence, and independence in a supportive environment.
- Collaborate with senior staff to ensure the school's SEND provision meets both student needs and statutory requirements.
What We're Looking For:
- Qualifications: A PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) are required.
- Experience: Previous experience working with SEND students is essential, with a strong understanding of how to adapt the curriculum for students with learning difficulties.
- Leadership: Confidence in leading a team of LSAs and working closely with other teachers to provide the best support for students.
- Passion: A genuine commitment to inclusive education and helping every student succeed.
- Compliance: Must have, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced Child-Only DBS check.
- Location: Ideally, candidates will reside in or near Hampton, or have reliable transportation to commute to the area.
