SHEQ Advisor

A SHEQ Advisor is required at leading civil engineering and construction company based in London.

Hours: 08:00 - 18:00, with flexibility to work out-of-hours as necessary
Contract Type: PAYE (Monthly)
Salary: £60,000 per annum

Job Summary:

In this role, you will ensure that all activities within the company are carried out in compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) standards, adhering to statutory regulations and internal procedures.

Reporting directly to the HSE Director.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Monitor and ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation and company policies.

  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits, ensuring safety procedures are in place and adhered to.

  • Liaise with project managers and contractors to ensure HSEQ standards are met across contracts and projects.

  • Conduct Safety Task Analysis and assist in accident investigations, reporting findings and recommending improvements.

  • Provide health, safety, and environmental training and support to site and project teams.

  • Ensure contractor competence and monitor safety-related activities through site visits and inspections.

  • Develop and deliver awareness campaigns on Health, Safety, and Wellbeing issues.

  • Report regularly to the HSEQ Director on compliance and improvements.


Qualifications:



  • Health, Safety & Environmental qualification (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH).

  • Experience in a similar HSEQ role.

  • Proficient in MS Office and report writing

  • In-depth understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation.

  • Degree level education or British Safety Council (BSC) Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health (desirable).
