Homeless Prevention Officer

In the Homeless Prevention Officer role, you will be:


  • Delivering housing support & interventions, developing personal plans, and use practical measures like mediation, advocacy and referrals to prevent or relieve homelessness
  • Providing advice, information, and signposting to additional services tailored to the needs of each service user
  • Collaborating with local agencies, landlords, and community organisations to secure housing options and support services
  • Maintaining detailed records and managing case records and documentation securely and accurately
  • Taking services into the community through home visits, outreach activities, and participation in multi-agency meetings to address housing challenges collaboratively

In the Homeless Prevention Officer role, you will need:


  • Previous housing experience including case management
  • A strong understanding of housing legislation, particularly the Housing (Wales) Act 2014
  • Problem-solving and organisation skills with a passion for helping people 
  • Excellent communication, advocacy, and collaboration skills
  • Respect confidentiality and handle personal data responsibly under GDPR

  • Competitive pay starting from £16.37 per hour, with overtime and holiday pay
  • Full-time working hours - Monday to Friday
  • Office based in Colwyn Bay
  • Temporary assignment until the end of Feb 2025 initially.
