Electrical Maintenance Engineer - Double Day Shift, Monday to Friday!


Location: Leicestershire


Salary: £42,000


Annual Leave: 25 days plus bank holidays


Working Hours: This role operates on an alternating shift pattern:



  • Morning Shift: 5:30 AM - 1:30 PM

  • Afternoon Shift: 1:30 PM - 9:30 PM


About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Engineer/Technician to join our team.

This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-performance operation of our production equipment.

As part of the engineering team, you will support the production department by providing timely, high-quality services, maintaining machinery, and contributing to continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities



  • Ensure all equipment is safe, serviceable, and performing to the highest standards.

  • Minimize engineering downtime and respond promptly to machine failures and breakdowns.

  • Undertake projects and assist with on-site installations.

  • Maintain clear and effective communication with management and colleagues.

  • Develop and improve planned maintenance schedules.

  • Prioritize tasks and allocate resources effectively within the engineering department.

  • Identify and address training needs or areas for improvement within the department.



Skills and Qualifications


Essential Skills:



  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

  • Time-served (apprenticeship-trained) engineer.

  • NVQ3 / ONC / HNC qualified in a relevant field.

  • Experience in an FMCG environment.


Electrical Expertise:



  • At least 5 years of electrical maintenance engineering experience.

  • Fault-finding on three-phase control circuits.

  • Experience with control systems (required) and PLCs (preferred).

  • 18th edition


Key Performance Indicators:



  • Reduction of mechanical and electrical downtime per machine.

  • Timely and professional completion of maintenance tasks.

  • Successful investigation and resolution of maintenance issues.


Health & Safety Responsibilities:



  • Comply with workplace health and safety policies and procedures.

  • Actively participate in health and safety activities.

  • Identify and report risks, accidents, incidents, injuries, and property damage.
