Structural Steel Design Engineer

A structural engineering company is seeking a Structural Steel Design Engineer in County Longford, Ireland.



Salary: £60k - £65k
Start Date: ASAP
Work Arrangement: On - site or Hybrid

Duties:

• Review and assess design information, including drawings and specifications from Design Teams.


• Develop design ideas and structural design calculations.


• Communicate with engineers and architects when preparing drawings and designs.


• Draft marked-up drawings to illustrate designs for our team of detailers.


• Liaise with external consultants, design teams, and clients.


• Undertake site inspections, site meetings, and online meetings regularly.


• Perform other job-related duties as required.


• Collaborate with the UK-based engineer and office team, incorporating hybrid working arrangements.

Requirements:

• Level 8 Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.


• 5-10 years of experience, preferably in an Engineering Design Office; site work experience is also valuable.


• Experience with steel frame projects is ideal.


• Full working knowledge of Eurocode Design Standards for Steel and good knowledge of Concrete Eurocode Design Standards.


• Proficiency in structural engineering design software, including Masterseries, Tekla Structural Designer, Idea Statica, or similar.


• Ability to work in a team environment and take direction from Project Lead Engineers.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• Self-motivated with great attention to detail.
