Senior Estimator

A roofing and cladding contractor based in Gloucestershire is looking for a Senior Estimator to prepare detailed cost estimates, ensuring projects remain within budget and are completed on time.

Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
Friday: 8:00am - 4:00pm
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 DOE (experience, industry knowledge & product familiarity)

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects, analysing drawings and specifications, calculating material, labour, and equipment requirements.


• Liaise with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and clients to assess feasibility and cost factors, supporting budgeting and planning efforts.


• Prepare tender documents, manage the bid process, and follow up with stakeholders to ensure clarity and competitiveness.


• Carry out site assessments to understand project complexities, verify measurements, and anticipate potential cost-related challenges.


• Track actual project costs, identify variances, and recommend adjustments to maintain profitability.


• Maintain accurate records, ensure documentation is audit-ready, and contribute to compliance with internal systems and procedures.


• Produce estimates using current market data and precise assumptions; review thoroughly for consistency and accuracy before submission.

Requirements:

• GCSE English & Maths


• Construction or engineering related qualification


• 5+ years of estimating experience in construction


• Background in roofing & cladding systems


• Understanding of UK building regulations, Roofing & Cladding Systems, Quality Control & Assurance


• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word


• Experience with IMS (Integrated Management Systems)


• Full UK driving licence


• Strong communication and analytical skills


• Willingness to travel
