Court of Protection Solicitor

We are looking for an experienced Solicitor who is dedicated to helping vulnerable individuals and families rebuild their lives after serious injury to join their growing Court of Protection team based in Manchester.


In this team, you will work closely with clients across the country, supporting adults and children who have suffered brain injuries.

You will manage a mix of high-value property and affairs deputyships and trust matters, while building your own caseload and contributing to the department's shared growth.


As a Court of Protection Solicitor, you will be:



  • Supporting the Deputy on complex, high-value Court of Protection cases.

  • Managing a personal caseload of lower-value matters and developing a private client portfolio.

  • Conducting out-of-office visits to clients and their families.

  • Collaborating with a Clinical Negligence team to support joined-up client care.

  • Assisting in marketing, networking, and developing the department's reputation and reach.


What we are looking for:



  • A qualified Solicitor with 1-4 PQE in handling property and affairs Court of Protection matters.

  • Strong private client background.

  • Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act, its Code of Practice, and the Court of Protection rules.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Genuine passion for supporting vulnerable clients and providing excellent client care.

  • STEP qualification or interest in pursuing one.

  • Understanding of welfare benefits.

  • Experience in probate and trust management, with a desire to specialise in this field.

  • Ambition to grow professionally.
