Family Solicitor

A well-respected Legal 500 firm with a national profile has a fantastic opportunity for a Family Solicitor to join one of their Leeds offices.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Family Solicitor to join a progressive and award-winning team.


The Role


As a Family Solicitor, you will manage a broad range of matters including divorce, private children's cases, domestic abuse, non-molestation orders, and financial relief.

You will be involved in cases from the outset through to conclusion, attending court where necessary and providing exceptional advice and representation to your clients.

This is a fast-paced role where you'll be trusted to run your own caseload under supervision, but also to step in and take over matters partway through when needed.

Key responsibilities



  • Handle a varied caseload, including both private and publicly funded work.

  • Attend court hearings, including directions hearings, first appointments, and FDRs.

  • Prepare legal documents, letters, and court applications.

  • Advise clients clearly and sensitively, ensuring the highest standard of client care.

  • Liaise with the Legal Aid Agency and prepare applications where required.

  • Achieve personal fee targets and contribute to the development of the department through marketing and networking.


About you


Demonstrate a high level of knowledge and excellent client care skills.



  • Ideally 1-4 PQE with Family law experience.

  • Experiencing of running own case load and being able to pick up cases partway through.

  • Strong advocacy skills and confidence in representing clients in court.

  • A good working knowledge of Legal Aid eligibility and rules.

  • The ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage priorities.
