Optical Instrument Design Engineer / Scientist - Sheffield
My client is looking for a Physicist with Engineering experience to provide practical application of scientific principles to optical design, non-destructive testing, radiometry and other instrumentation products.
You will also evaluate new scientific principals and technologies, folding them into electronic prototype designs and builds to evaluate potentially using lab experiments.
Key requirements
Instrument Design ??? the more complex the better.
Strong relevant degree or PhD with an interest or exposure to precision instruments, electronic product design, lasers, optics, firmware, PCB???s, sensors, thermal imaging and/or radiometry.
Responsibilities
Device design, development, test, calibration, build and commission work as appropriate.
Research, development and maintenance of relevant physics and technology knowledge.
