To develop sensors for use in rugged and harsh environments for optical, acoustic, electromagnetic, thermal and flow measurement.

The idea candidate will have sensor head mechanical design experience in an R&D environment working on optical sensing systems.

Key Skills
Degree or other higher level qualification in Engineering or a related Subject with strong physics and maths
Relevant commercial experience.
FEA stress and thermal analysisSolidWorks and/or COMSOL ideal, although training will be provided.

Role responsibilities
Mechanical Design of sensor element and high temperature packaging including
Analytical and numerical modelling and analysis.
Working with the process engineering team on manufacturing processes.
Simulation, design and build of new test equipment.
Specification of new sensor systems.
Ownership and maintenance of ISO9001 design standards.
Managing suppliers, including the definition of supplier requirements and incoming inspection criteria
Develop of IP for the company

Good communication skills are a must since you will be working with a wide range of team members.
