Zest Optical recruitment is working with a respected independent Opticians in Chingford, East London to recruit an experienced Optical Assistant.

This is a stylish, community-led practice with a loyal patient base and a focus on unhurried, personal care.

The environment is calm and quality driven, offering longer appointments and a private patient focus rather than high-volume testing.

The practice is known locally for its tailored approach, detailed dispensing and carefully curated eyewear collections.

It is a quieter setting, so this role would suit someone proactive who enjoys taking ownership, supporting across the practice and keeping standards high throughout the day.

Optical Assistant - The Role

• Independent Opticians in Chingford, East London


• Fully private patient base


• Single testing environment with quality-led service


• Premium eyewear brands including Tom Ford, Jimmy Choo and Maui Jim


• High value dispensing and styling consultations


• Opportunity to spend time with patients to find the right eyewear solution


• Supporting with complex queries and detailed fittings


• Front of house and day-to-day practice support


• Full or part time, 3, 4 or 5 days per week


• Most Saturdays included, but they try and give 12 Saturdays off per year fully paid


• Typical hours 9am to 5:30pm


• Salary up to £30,000 depending on experience

Optical Assistant - The Person

• Previous experience as an Optical Assistant


• Independent practice experience would be ideal


• Confident working with premium products and higher price points


• Interest in fashion, styling and personalised service


• Proactive and happy to take initiative in a quieter setting


• Professional, friendly and team focused
