Senior Support Worker – Hebburn, NE31

Full-time: 42 hours per week, 2-week rolling rota

£15.63 per hour

Experience of working with adults with specialist complex care required

Job Purpose
Provide high-quality, person-centred support across all aspects of care (social, physical, emotional, and recreational), enabling individuals to live fulfilling and independent lives.

Work in line with internal standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring safety, wellbeing, and satisfaction.

You will apply Person-Centred Active Support by encouraging choice, promoting independence, and providing the right level of support for each individual.

This is a 24/7 service, requiring flexibility to work shifts, including weekends, nights, and bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities


  • Deliver person-centred care and support daily living activities
  • Support with personal care (e.g.

    bathing, dressing, toileting)
  • Encourage independence with cooking, housekeeping, and life skills
  • Monitor wellbeing and report concerns to management
  • Communicate with families, professionals, and colleagues
  • Maintain accurate care records and follow care plans
  • Support with medication and healthcare appointments
  • Assist with finances and tenancy-related tasks
  • Participate in social activities, outings, and holidays
  • Apply positive behaviour support and follow safeguarding procedures
  • Work safely, maintain confidentiality, and follow policies

Skills & Experience

Essential:


  • Caring, respectful, and reliable
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to dignity, confidentiality, and person-centred care
  • Experience with adults with specialist complex care

Desirable:


  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care
  • Experience with care plans and personal care
  • Training in safeguarding, first aid, or infection control
