About the role and school

We are seeking a Year 1 Teacher in Waltham Forest from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a committed Year 1 Teacher to join a supportive KS1 team within a welcoming and inclusive primary school.

This Year 1 Teacher role is suitable for both experienced practitioners and confident ECTs looking to develop within a well-structured KS1 provision.

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging KS1 learning as a Year 1 Teacher


• Plan and adapt lessons to meet pupil needs in Year 1


• Support phonics, reading and early writing development


• Assess and track progress effectively across Year 1


• Maintain strong classroom behaviour and routines


• Work collaboratively with staff and parents

Qualifications/Experience

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)


• Experience teaching in KS1 or as a Year 1 Teacher is desirable


• Strong understanding of early learning and phonics


• Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service


• Right to work in the UK
