Warehouse Put Away Operative – Mirfield

Monday to Friday | Rotating Shifts | £13.32 per hour

Aqumen Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Put Away Operative to join a well-established manufacturing business in Mirfield, West Yorkshire.

This is a hands-on role within a busy manufacturing and warehouse environment, ensuring finished products are checked, scanned, booked into stock and moved safely to the correct locations.

The role would suit someone with previous experience in warehousing, manufacturing or production, particularly candidates familiar with stock control systems such as SAP.

Pay & Hours

£13.32 per hour

Monday to Friday – Rotating Shifts:


  • 06:00 – 14:00
  • 14:00 – 22:00

You will rotate between the morning and afternoon shift patterns.

The Role

Working closely with production and warehouse teams, your duties will include:


  • Scanning and booking finished products into SAP
  • Checking stock bookings and quantities are accurate
  • Moving finished products into the correct warehouse locations
  • Filling cages safely and correctly
  • Checking products against customer orders and specifications
  • Opening and closing production orders
  • Managing completed orders and cage requirements
  • Following procedures for priority or fast-track orders
  • Checking bagging machine settings
  • Changing rolls on bagging machinery when required
  • Completing relevant FLT safety checks before use
  • Reporting quality or operational issues to management
  • Supporting troubleshooting and continuous improvement
  • Maintaining accurate stock through careful scanning and counting
  • Keeping work areas clean, tidy and safe
  • Following all site health, safety and PPE procedures

Accuracy & Safety

Accuracy is a key part of this role.

You will be responsible for ensuring finished products are counted, scanned and booked correctly, with physical stock matching warehouse records.

You must also work safely at all times, follow operating procedures and report any quality or equipment issues promptly.

What We Are Looking For

Ideally, you will have:


  • Previous warehouse, manufacturing or production experience
  • Experience using stock control systems
  • SAP experience would be advantageous
  • Good basic computer and numerical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • The ability to work well under pressure
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • A strong understanding of health and safety
  • The physical fitness required for a hands-on warehouse role
  • GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English would be beneficial

Previous experience working around or operating Fork Lift Trucks would also be advantageous.

Reliability Is Essential

Punctuality, reliability and excellent timekeeping are essential.

You must be able to commit to the rotating 06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00 Monday-to-Friday shift pattern.
