Site Engineering Manager / Engineering Supervisor | £46,000–£50,000 DOE
Highbridge
Food & Drink Manufacturing
40 hours per week | Monday–Friday | Half-day Friday currently in place

Are you an experienced Engineering professional looking for a role where you can take ownership and genuinely make a difference?
We’re looking for a Site Engineering Manager to join an established manufacturing business — a key role with real responsibility for the reliability, safety and performance of the engineering function.

Own the Engineering Function
This is a genuinely hands-on engineering leadership role.

You’ll take ownership of the engineering function, ensuring production machinery, utilities, buildings and site services remain safe, reliable and fit for purpose.
You’ll lead the PPM programme, respond to breakdowns, diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, improve equipment reliability and identify opportunities to reduce downtime and improve manufacturing efficiency.
Our engineering department is small, but hugely important to the success of the business.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants to take control, put their own stamp on the function and see the direct impact of their work.
You’ll also work closely with the wider Management Team on health & safety, food safety, quality, operational performance and continuous improvement.

What we're looking for
We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical engineering ability with a practical, proactive approach.

You’ll need:

  • Recognised Electrical, Mechanical or Multi-skilled Engineering qualification
  • Proven manufacturing engineering experience
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
  • Experience developing and managing PPM programmes
  • Good understanding of engineering Health & Safety
  • Ability to manage external engineering contractors when specialist support is required
  • Good IT skills
  • Current Counterbalance and/or Reach Forklift Truck licence – essential
  • Full UK driving licence

Experience within food manufacturing would be highly advantageous, alongside knowledge of BRCGS, industrial refrigeration, compressed air, PLC fault-finding, steam boiler plant or fabrication.

Why join us?

This isn't a role where you'll simply maintain the status quo.

You’ll own the engineering function.

You’ll have the autonomy to improve systems, increase reliability, reduce downtime and build an engineering operation that properly supports the wider business.

Warehouse responsibility may be required, with oversight of the day-to-day warehouse function and stock/material flow.
Emergency breakdowns, weekend working and out-of-hours call-outs are paid in accordance with the contract.

If you're a hands-on engineer looking for ownership, responsibility and the opportunity to make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.
