Hardware Design Engineer - TechBio
Hardware Design Engineer - TechBio
Newton Colmore is working with a pioneering TechBio company in Northern Spain, assisting them in their search for a hardware design engineer.
The company is developing a technology that aims to turn a black box biological process into a glass box system that is programmable, utilising state of the art sensor technology and machine learning capabilities.
This is a vital hands-on role for the company as they look to strengthen their electronics expertise, with high potential for future growth and domain leadership.
For the day-to-day activities for this role you can expect to;
- Work across the full hardware development cycle, from first principles to deploying the product in the field.
- Lead the full hardware electronics cycle: concept, schematic, layout, bring-up, validation and industrialisation.
- Design low-signal analog front-ends and impedance measurement circuits for sensors.
- Handle and understand electrochemical, optical, potentiometric, amperometric and capacitive sensors, conditioning different signals without interference.
- Design mixed-signal multilayer PCBs in Altium, negotiate BOM, manage manufacturing and lead times with suppliers.
This is an exciting time to join this company as they move forward with the design of their technology, with pre-seed already secured, moving toward raising series A, and ongoing projects with existing customers.
To be considered for this exciting role you will need to have the following;
- A good amount of hands-on experience designing hardware and strong skills in Altium Designer.
- Strong fundamentals, ideally educated to Master's level in electronics engineering.
- Experience developing novel sensors from scratch.
- Any work experience from medical technology, industrial automation, or pharma would be advantageous.
In exchange for your skills and expertise, the company offer a highly competitive package as well as providing a generous share option scheme and the potential to help with relocation.
The company have already built a strong culture and working environment that promotes diverse thinking, calculated risk taking and autonomy.
They are proud of this and want people to share this experience daily, so this role will require five days a week onsite.
