An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Manager / Maintenance Plant Manager to take responsibility for maintenance operations across the company's manufacturing facilities.


As Maintenance Manager / Maintenance Plant Manager, you will lead and develop a skilled maintenance team, ensuring all plant, machinery, equipment, utilities and infrastructure operate safely, efficiently and reliably.


This is leadership role focused on preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, plant reliability, reducing downtime, root cause analysis and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities



  • Lead, manage and develop the maintenance team, including technicians, electricians and mechanics, while promoting a strong culture of safety and continuous improvement.

  • Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programmes to improve plant reliability, equipment performance, production efficiency and minimise downtime.

  • Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, maintenance shutdowns, major repairs and engineering projects.

  • Manage CMMS systems, maintenance records, spare parts, budgets, contractors, suppliers and external service providers.

  • Monitor key maintenance KPIs including MTBF, MTTR, equipment uptime and OEE to drive performance improvements.

  • Ensure all maintenance activities meet HSE, ISO and company safety standards, including safety audits, risk assessments and inspections.

  • Work closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to improve manufacturing performance and introduce Lean Manufacturing, TPM and Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM) practices.

  • Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, reliability and continuous improvement.


About You


You will ideally have experience as a Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Plant Manager, Engineering Manager, Maintenance Engineering Manager, Senior Maintenance Engineer or Engineering Maintenance Manager, with a strong understanding of manufacturing plant and machinery.


You should have:



  • Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance knowledge, with experience across pneumatic, hydraulic and PLC-controlled systems.

  • Relevant engineering qualifications, including 18th Edition, with experience using CMMS systems and Microsoft Office.

  • Good understanding of industrial H&S, maintenance best practice, contractors, suppliers and budgets.

  • Proven ability to improve plant reliability, equipment uptime and maintenance performance, with strong leadership, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, TPM or RCM is advantageous, as are CMRP or Certified Maintenance Manager qualifications.
