Mechanical Maintenance Engineer required for a leading food manufacturing business in Suffolk.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer from a manufacturing, FMCG, food production or packaging background to join a stable business offering a £51,000 salary, overtime and genuine career progression.

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across a busy food manufacturing facility, ensuring maximum equipment reliability and minimising downtime.


Duties include:

• Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)


• Reactive breakdown repairs


• Mechanical fault finding


• Continuous improvement activities


• Equipment installation and upgrades


• Supporting production efficiency and site reliability

Working on a variety of manufacturing and packaging machinery including:

• Conveyors


• Production machinery


• Packaging machinery


• Proseal equipment


• Multivac systems


• Vacuum packers and sealers


• Metal detectors


• Labelling equipment


• Bearings, motors, chains and sprockets


• General food production machinery

• Mechanical Maintenance Engineer experience within manufacturing, FMCG, food production or packaging environments


• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills


• Experience maintaining production machinery


• Knowledge of conveyors, bearings, motors, gearboxes, chains and mechanical systems


• Positive attitude and team-focused approach
