About the role and school

Teach Plus are working with a welcoming primary school in Tower Hamlets that is looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teacher to join its team from January 2027.

This is an opportunity for a passionate teacher who is committed to inclusive education and supporting pupils with additional needs.

The successful candidate will be confident adapting lessons, creating structured learning opportunities and helping pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally.

You will work alongside Teaching Assistants and the wider school team to provide personalised support, promote independence and create a positive learning environment in which pupils feel safe, supported and encouraged to achieve their potential.

Job Responsibilities

  Plan and deliver differentiated lessons suited to pupils' individual needs

  
  


• 
  

  Adapt resources and teaching strategies to support learning

  
  


• 
  

  Establish clear routines and maintain a calm, structured environment

  
  


• 
  

  Support pupils' communication, social development and independence

  
  


• 
  

  Use positive behaviour management strategies

  
  


• 
  

  Monitor progress and contribute to individual learning targets

  
  


• 
  

  Work closely with Teaching Assistants and other professionals

  
  


• 
  

  Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families

  Encourage engagement and celebrate individual achievements

  
  

Qualifications/Experience

• 
  

  QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification is essential

  
  


• 
  

  Experience teaching pupils with SEN is desirable

  
  


• 
  

  Understanding of additional learning needs and differentiated teaching

  
  


• 
  

  Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues

  
  


• 
  

  A patient, adaptable and nurturing approach

  
  


• 
  

  Commitment to helping pupils achieve their potential
