About the role and school

Teach Plus are working with a friendly and welcoming primary school in Lambeth that is looking to appoint a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join its team as soon as possible.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children's education and development.

The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to provide classroom support, assist with learning activities and help pupils overcome barriers to learning.

The school would particularly welcome candidates with experience supporting children with special educational needs, although graduates and individuals with relevant childcare experience are also encouraged to apply.

Job Responsibilities

• 
  

  Provide classroom support across the primary age range

  
  


• 
  

  Work with individual pupils and small groups

  
  


• 
  

  Support children with additional learning needs

  
  


• 
  

  Assist teachers with lesson activities and preparation

  
  


• 
  

  Help deliver targeted interventions where required

  
  


• 
  

  Encourage positive behaviour and engagement

  
  


• 
  

  Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development

  
  


• 
  

  Help create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment

  
  

Qualifications/Experience

• 
  

  Previous experience working with children is desirable

  
  


• 
  

  A degree or relevant childcare qualification would be advantageous

  
  


• 
  

  Experience supporting pupils with SEN is beneficial

  
  


• 
  

  A patient, caring and proactive approach

  
  


• 
  

  Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to work effectively as part of a team
