Intervention Teacher

Job Title: Intervention Teacher
Start Date: January 2027
Location: Southwark
Contract: Full-time / Part-time
Salary: MPS 1 - UPS 3

About the role and school

Teach Plus are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and dedicated Intervention Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Southwark, starting January 2027.

This flexible full-time or part-time Intervention Teacher position is an excellent opportunity for a qualified primary teacher who is passionate about raising attainment and supporting pupils who require additional academic support.

The successful Intervention Teacher will deliver targeted interventions to individuals and small groups across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, focusing on closing learning gaps, improving confidence and accelerating progress in English, Mathematics, phonics and reading.

This role is ideal for an experienced Primary Teacher looking to make a measurable difference to pupil outcomes without the responsibilities of a full-time class teaching position.

The school is a welcoming and community-focused primary school situated in Southwark, with a strong Christian ethos centred on respect, kindness, inclusion and academic achievement.

Serving a diverse local community, the school is committed to providing a nurturing and supportive learning environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to succeed.

The school promotes positive behaviour, high expectations and a broad, balanced curriculum that supports children's academic, social and emotional development.

Teachers, support staff and senior leaders work collaboratively to identify gaps in learning, provide targeted academic support and ensure pupils with additional needs receive appropriate interventions.

The school's inclusive approach and commitment to pupil progress create an excellent environment for an Intervention Teacher who enjoys working closely with individual pupils and small groups.

This Intervention Teacher opportunity would particularly suit a motivated, patient and adaptable qualified teacher with experience delivering targeted interventions across the primary curriculum.

The school is looking for a confident Intervention Teacher who can quickly identify learning gaps, plan effective intervention programmes and use assessment data to monitor and accelerate pupil progress.

Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), English as an Additional Language (EAL) or those working below age-related expectations would be particularly beneficial.

With both full-time and part-time opportunities available, this is a fantastic position for an experienced Primary Teacher seeking greater flexibility while continuing to make a meaningful impact on children's learning and development.
