Our client based in Middlesex is currently recruiting for an M&E Surveyor to join their Cyclical team as soon as possible.
This is a full time, temporary position working in the public sector.
The purpose of the role is to be responsible for the proper and efficient maintenance of the installations, plant and equipment across the housing stock.
This is a key role in terms of delivering services in compliance with health and safety requirements and is wide ranging and complex-covering planned maintenance, inspection and installation of equipment and services.
Responsibilities:
To act as lead professional in all aspects of inspections, design and building contract procurement of works for the service and to provide expert professional and technical advice, guidance, training and support in all matters relating to cyclical maintenance of the stock in a customer focussed manner.
To act as project manager for cyclical maintenance and other improvement projects as assigned, providing a professional and efficient service, ensuring that works are carried out within the agreed constraints of time, budget, quality and performance and in compliance with statutory legislation, building regulations, health and safety policies and financial regulations.
This is a key compliance role and the surveyor will need to have current knowledge of statutory legislation, building regulations, health and safety legislation, guidance and best practice and policies and financial regulations.
Requirements:
Knowledge of the issues involved in providing technical client advice for planned maintenance relating to mechanical, electric and gas services
Detailed knowledge of building legislation including health and safety regulations particularly around legionella, lifts, gas servicing, electrical services and fire safety
Detailed knowledge of managing cyclical, maintenance and major works programmes in mechanical, electrical and gas services
Knowledge of good practice in commissioning and procurement and value for money in matters relating to the delivery of the cyclical maintenance and planned works programme.
Knowledge of current housing issues at national, regional and local level particularly those relating to housing investment and supporting climate change initiatives.
