Education & Experience:
A strong background with a 1st or 2.1 degree (or PhD) in a numerate discipline from a reputable UK university.
A solid academic record, including A grades at A level.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in FPGA development using VHDL.
Experience in PCB design and layout.
Familiarity with software development in embedded C/C++.
Personal Attributes:
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to present complex ideas clearly.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Simulating and implementing signal and image processing algorithms in VHDL for FPGAs.
Designing PCBs that integrate FPGAs, SoCs, high-speed network interfaces, and analog/RF signal filtering.
Performing schematic capture using OrCAD.
Managing PCB layout, fabrication, and assembly with subcontractors.
Setting up PCBs, including writing test firmware and software.
Developing Linux device drivers for hardware.

Are you a skilled Electronic Test & Inspection Engineer looking for a new exciting opportunity based in Sheffield?
My client, based in Sheffield, have an excellent new opening for an experienced Electronic Test & Inspection Engineer, to come and join their brand new facilities, within their quality department.
This new opening presents an opportunity to join a safety critical company, working on products that are lifesaving.
Main duties for this role will include the inspection and verification of product quality, ensuring it meets the required customer specifications and reducing quality issues.
Key responsibilities for the Electronic Test & Inspection Engineer include:
Inspecting production and confirming specifications by conducting visual and certain test requirements.
Participate in projects to help reduce quality issues and problems internally/externally.
Assist in continual improvement projects, and work on further developments in this area.
Testing defective products and report writing, using test equipment such as multimeters.
Work with manufacturing to find solutions to difficulties in manufacturing new products and implement appropriate measurement/quality control steps.
Assist in investigating and resolving complaints and issues of the company products.
Support in developing and maintaining our internal test procedures.
Fault finding to component level of complex embedded electronic products

Requirements for the Electronic Test Engineer Job in Hertfordshire:
Familiar with instrumentation systems, the use of signal generators, oscilloscopes, etc.
Experience of liaison with engineering in solving technical issues.
Established experience of testing instrumentation equipment, including electronic testing and fault finding.
Minimum HNC required - HND preferred - in a relevant subject.

Responsibilities for the Electronic Test Engineer Job in Hertfordshire:
Required to support qualification activities for this system at test houses in the UK.
Will involve environmental, vibration and EMC testing where the test engineer will validate performance of the system following a specific qualification test.
