Job Description
Are you a proactive Maintenance Engineer with a knack for preventing equipment failures and ensuring efficiency? Join our dynamic team and play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards in quality, waste management, and operational efficiency.
Working at our Distribution Centre, you will primarily work in engineering workshops, but tasks may also involve outdoor areas, roof spaces, stairwells, ducts, plant rooms, offices, and warehouses.
Be prepared to work in various conditions, including warm, humid, cold, or wet environments, occasionally exposed to the weather.
Requirements:
Qualifications: Minimum NVQ Level 3 with an apprenticeship
Experience: Previous experience as a maintenance engineer in manufacturing, processing, warehouse, or cold store industries.
Skills:
Basic Health & Safety knowledge
Proficiency with computer applications (Word, Excel, Windows-based packages)
Desirable Skills:
PLC, hydraulics, temperature control, instrumentation, welding, FLT/MEWP license.
FGas certification (advantageous but not essential).
Experience with refrigeration cold stores is beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
Efficient Task Management: Execute work assignments efficiently to maximize shift productivity.
Team Collaboration: Maintain equipment and hygiene standards, supporting logistics teams and colleagues during breaks or absences.
Procedure Adherence: Follow work instructions, procedures, and job descriptions consistently.
Task Completion: Ensure all Work Orders and Preventive Maintenance tasks are completed as scheduled.
Paperwork Management: Accurately complete and check all necessary documentation.
Cross-Functional Work: Collaborate with other departments to ensure the site runs smoothly and prioritized work is completed.
Problem Resolution: Quickly resolve mechanical and electrical issues, ordering spare parts and coordinating with contractors as needed.
Compliance: Adhere to company policies and regulations, maintaining high standards for safety and quality.
Communication: Provide detailed reports on engineering downtime, quality issues, and completed tasks to the Engineering Manager.
Preventive Action: Identify and address potential issues before they become critical.
Benefits:
Competitive Salary: £37,000 per annum + £2,000 paid for being on call
Pension: Standard pension scheme with salary exchange benefits
Bonus: A discretionary bonus paid if the company performs well.
Insurance: Salary insurance to protect your income and death in service benefit.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm.
No work on Bank Holidays or weekends, but you can opt in for overtime paid at:
Bank Holidays: Double time
Saturdays: Time and a half
Sundays: Double time
Call Rota: 1 in 3 call rota, with an additional £175 on call standby payment per month after passing probation.
Call-outs are rare (1-2 times a year), paid at time and a half for a minimum of one hours labour.

An Assistant Superintendent with Stonhard is responsible for site supervision and installation of Stonhard products on projects within an assigned territory. BS Construction Management or BS Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical or Civil) and 1-2 years related experience in industrial or commercial construction/project management. An Assistant Superintendent with Stonhard is responsible for site supervision and installation of Stonhard products on projects within an assigned territory. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Someone who is detailed, a hands-on project leader and a problem solver. BS Construction Management or BS Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical or Civil) and 1-2 years related experience in industrial or commercial construction/project management. Must be willing to travel and have reliable transportation.

Some weekends required. Strong communication and organizational skills and have a thorough understanding of construction safety regulations. Stage and prepare all raw materials associated with production orders. Makes batches and operates packaging equipment efficiently.
Capable of handling scanner & basic computer operations Maintains orderliness and cleanliness in and packaging areas, with active engagement in positive safety behavior. As a Safety Manager you will be responsible for making sure that employees follow health and safety regulations and supervising operations to promote the wellbeing of their team.

Collaborates with management to develop an Emergency Action Plan and serve as primary contact for project site injury and incident notification, investigation, and case management.
Maintains a written log of safety inspection activities, reports, and correspondence. Guarantees that all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals, internal policies and procedures, contract documents, and good engineering practices. Provides technical support to project managers. Develops and maintains project cost/change controls, and project budget and accounting records. Coordinates and monitors schedule updates, invoices, and submittals. Reports the status of projects to business and market leaders. Participates in team meetings and provides regular on-site project presence.
This job requires minimum of 10 years of experience and/or knowledge in the following areas:
Environmental Permitting and Compliance OSHA compliance Experience in implementation and administration of OSHA and Environmental programs in a chemical/Food manufacturing facility with knowledge of batch and/or continuous processes Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment Leadership of EHS reviews of various new and existing processes Leadership of Management of Change protocols for the site Leadership of Waste Management protocols for the site Knowledge and/or experience in worker exposure assessments Knowledge of security requirements for chemical/Food manufacturing facilities Interpretation of Safety Data Sheets and Technical Data Sheets Knowledge of Global Harmonization Standards Preparation of numerous plans, procedures, and reports to Government Agencies and other required parties including landlord householder Strong documentation and recordkeeping skills Training of manufacturing workers in all aspects of EHS&S Proven track record of successfully working with regulatory agencies on detailed permitting issues, plant inspections, etc. Knowledge of additional compliance requirements such as TSCA or DOT
