Proven experience (3+ years) in sales or technical support within the construction materials industry, preferably with concrete admixtures or similar products. Strong understanding of the manufactured concrete (block, pavers and mcp) process and the role of admixtures. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills. Knowledge of construction codes, regulations, and industry trends is a plus.
Preferred Skills: Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) tools. Technical certifications in concrete technology or related fields. Multilingual capabilities are a plus.

Summary:
The Continuous Improvement Engineer will be a part of Carboline Global Continuous Improvement Team supporting the development and execution of continuous improvement projects at the Green Bay manufacturing facility.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, operating and maintenance manuals and safety rules.
Ability to use a computer for all company required processes, procedures, and training.
Essential Functions:
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement methodologies and ability to teach and model them.
Investigating shortfalls, issues, and complaints in current business processes. Ability to influence, mentor, and coach to get results through others. Collaborates with operations manager and/or plant engineering on modification of equipment and processes to reduce cost and improve efficiency and quality. Works together with R&D, engineering, and plant resources to develop and implement continuous improvement projects. Collaborates with R&D on process development - Including reviewing and approving proposed manufacturing procedures for new products. Provides technical support and consultation to the Quality Control department.
Specifically, regarding recovery plans for off-specification, obsolete, and problem finished goods. Monitors the consistency of production using SQC, SPC, or other appropriate techniques. Strong communicator with top-notch presentation skills who can develop and provide training to production personnel on matters concerning formulation, materials handling, processing, and quality procedures. Follow all environmental rules and regulations to ensure hazardous materials and waste are managed in an environmentally responsible manner. Works in coordination with QC and R&D to isolate, test and recertify Non-Conforming material that can be repackaged and sold. Observing production processes, conducting research, and finding ways to increase efficiency and quality. Continuously challenging the status quo understood as a day-to-day activity in our operating areas. Proactive problem solving based on statistical analysis of corrective actions / assigned by Engineering Director, Plant Manufacturing Manager, QA, EHS projects. You will manage a case load of children between the ages of 16 to 18 years including post 18 plans.
You will work with the multi-agency team around the child or young people.

This is a varied, demanding, and rewarding role that requires a professional with a strong background in mechanical or structural engineering.

You will engage with a global customer base, contributing to new ideas and improving existing designs to meet evolving industry demands.

Responsibilities as Engineering Manager:
- Provide proactive leadership and mentorship to the engineering team; lead by example and foster a collaborative, motivated work environment.
- Manage and prioritise multiple short- and long-term design projects, ensuring timely delivery to meet customer deadlines.
- Improve existing designs and influence new product development to align with industry trends and customer needs.
- Conduct technical review and approval of engineering designs, including using stress analysis software or hand calculations.
- Create and review 2D engineering drawings derived from 3D design models, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to assess the integrity and safety of designs.
- Collaborate with the operations team to provide technical support and resources as required.
- Ensure all design work is performed in compliance with global industry standards and relevant laws.
- Serve as the lead technical specialist for all products under the departments purview.
- Communicate effectively across departments, ensuring technical and non-technical stakeholders understand project updates and challenges.
- Maintain knowledge of and adapt to changes in industry regulations and design standards.

Qualifications and experience required to succeed in this role:
- A Bachelors degree (BEng) in Mechanical Engineering or Structural Engineering
- UK Nationality as the role is security-restricted to UK Eyes only.
- A proven track record of successfully managing engineering teams, demonstrating strong leadership, mentorship, and team development skills.
- Extensive experience with stress analysis and stress calculations to ensure the strength and safety of designs.
- Proficiency in 2D drafting and 3D design modeling, as well as reviewing and checking complex calculations and drawings with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to re-prioritise tasks according to project demands.
- An ability to inspire a sense of urgency and accountability across your team to meet deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills, allowing you to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams seamlessly.
- A positive outlook with the ability to view the big picture while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with industry standards and law relevant to engineering projects.
- A strong background in structural engineering will be considered an additional advantage.
