GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Production Manager will oversee day to day activities of target manufacturing activities to meet daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly deadlines and provide leadership for the shift supervisors and associates within the value stream.
Drives the lean process to maximize profitable growth, provides premier customer service, develops a technically qualified workforce, reduce operating cost and inventories through incremental and quantum continuous improvements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Promotes and ensures a safe and environmentally compliant work environment.
Drives Lean Management - including Tier Meetings, Supervisor Standard Work, Accountability Boards, and overall process discipline.
Responsible for hiring and developing associates, budget planning, employment decisions and performance assessment of shop floor associates.
Operates as part of a Leadership Team responsible for running the factory to specific KPI's and improvement activities.
Utilizes Root Cause Investigation skills and data-driven decision making to implement systematic corrective actions.
Directly manages the departmental cell and works cooperatively with other functional teams.
Leads and guides Lean initiatives within the designated work cell.
Works closely with plant level management on Lean process projects using lean tools and metrics.
Helps develop a Lean Strategy to be implemented plant wide.
Participates in FIT and continuous improvement initiatives using tools such as Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement techniques.
Leads the production department in meeting or exceeding production goals, including throughput, yield, cost, downtime, scrap, and quality.

Education/Experience:
HS Diploma with 8+ years' experience, Engineering Degree with 4 years' experience, OR Non-Engineering Degree with 6 years' experience.
All experience must include time managing people in a manufacturing environment.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Direction of Supervisors and development of workforce.
Install structure and discipline relative to start/stop times and break times, as well as other fixed non-productive (example: vacuum) times.
Define standard work for Kettle and Varnish Operators.
Upgrade Supervision floor presence.
Implement Lean Management.
Tier Meetings, Accountability Board, Follow up on key constraint reductions.
Learn and implement Lean principles.
Evaluate gaps of Actual and Expected Lean performance and address the gaps with the Leadership Team, utilizing the Division Black Belt and other internal resources as required.

Tasks PROFILE:

Responsibilities
Provide process engineering support for raw materials, compounding, production, and packaging functions to improve safety, and support the MS 168 continuous improvement process.
Production Support
Support daily production needs through process troubleshooting, experimentation and support for production requirements.
Continuous Improvement

Capital Plan

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial engineering
2+ years' experience in manufacturing environment.
Six Sigma/lean manufacturing experience.
Understanding of process control methods, flowmeters, level monitors, and other process controls within a batch manufacturing process.
Ability to read and interpret process drawings (process flow diagrams and P&ID's).
PLC with ladder logic analysis.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
PC usage with MS Office Suite (AutoCAD experience a plus), strong interpersonal skills, good communication skills both written and verbal.

Identify and resolve production bottlenecks to maximise efficiency
Develop and implement new processes, products, and technologies
Support prototype builds and proof-of-concept activities
Create and maintain build instructions, process documentation, and risk assessments
Collaborate cross-functionally to solve manufacturing issues and drive operational success
Identify cost-saving opportunities through Value Analysis and Value Engineering
Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental standards
Participate in project work as directed by the Operations Manager
What We're Looking For in a Production Engineer
Degree-qualified in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (essential)
At least 3 years' experience in a similar production or process engineering role
Strong understanding oflean manufacturing, process optimisation, and digitalisation
Practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving and process improvement
Experience with method studies, SOP creation, and process documentation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project)
Experience with AutoCAD or Autodesk Inventor is desirable
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
